Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient encounters from remote locations. You will ensure accuracy, follow CMS guidelines, and maintain compliance with AHIMA standards while supporting hospital coding workflows.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree, at least one year of inpatient coding experience, and CCS or RHIT preferred. Remote work options are available and training provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health-related field preferred.
• One year of inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital required.
• CCS or RHIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS per CMS requirements.
• Ensure 95% accuracy on quality reviews and productivity standards.
• Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and AHIMA/organization policies.
• Submit physician queries when documentation is unclear.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure productive encounters.
