Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to accurately assign diagnoses, procedures, and DRGs.
• Abstract coded data into EPIC to support billing and revenue cycle operations.
• Ensure correct discharge disposition and POA indicator.
• Identify documentation gaps and query physicians as needed.
• Apply coding hold reasons for incomplete documentation or pending reports.
• Prioritize workload to meet productivity and deadline goals.
• Maintain proficiency across UPHS inpatient facilities and stay current with coding guidelines.
• Complete continuing education and maintain professional credentials.
