CentraCare is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist to analyze and audit clinical documentation to assign codes using ICD-CM/PCS. You will collaborate with providers and the clinical documentation integrity team to translate records accurately and educate staff as needed.

The role requires an associate degree in health information or a related field, AHIMA or AAPC certification, and at least 1 year of inpatient coding experience, with EPIC proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information, Health Administration, Business or related field.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Minimum 1 year inpatient coding experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office.
• Experience with ICD-CM/PCS coding.
• Experience with EPIC software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management and prioritization.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and audit documentation to ensure codes meet classification systems requirements.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical documentation integrity staff to translate records accurately and educate as necessary.
• Assist with quality audits, denial management, data collection, monitoring, and reporting documentation patterns and trends.
• Help CentraCare secure reimbursement for provided services and safeguard patient privacy.
