Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a remote Coding Education Specialist with expert inpatient/outpatient coding knowledge to support reimbursement and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on resolving CMS and payor edits, educating new hires, and maintaining current coursework through the LMS.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead coding audits, and drive quality improvement across service lines while adapting to a remote setup after training.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CIRCC licensure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years hospital coding experience in one core area.

Responsibilities

• Support facility coding education to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance.
• Become SME in inpatient or outpatient hospital coding activities.
• Resolve CCI, OCE, and Medical Necessity edits using CMS/payor guidance.
• Assist Coding Education Lead with daily activities and onboarding.
• Develop coursework through LMS to keep coders up to date.
