Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Inpatient Coding Auditor to perform audits of inpatient medical records and other documentation to determine correct coding per contract-specific methodologies.

The role requires extensive ICD-10 coding knowledge, MS-DRG/APR-DRG expertise, and AHIMA or AAPC credentials, with opportunities for training, advancement, and remote work within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential required (CPC, CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT).
• 2+ years of inpatient coding or auditing experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, APC, ASC, HCPCS, and CPT coding methodologies.
• Strong understanding of APR-DRG, AP-DRG, and MS-DRG.
• Experience in medical record auditing and coding methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Performs audits of inpatient medical record documentation to determine accuracy of diagnoses and procedures.
• Adheres to official coding guidelines and regulatory mandates.
• Cross-trains to review multiple claim types to meet client needs.
• Mentors and trains new Coding Auditors and participates in ongoing education.
