Job summary

Gainwell Technologies seeks a Senior Coding Auditor, Itemized Bill Reviewer to perform itemized bill review, chart review, and coding validation ensuring billed services were ordered, allowable, and accurately documented in patient records.

Responsibilities include verifying line items, coding accuracy, and reimbursement; using auditing systems to document findings; and ensuring compliance with coding standards. This remote role offers travel up to 10% and strong career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 2+ years inpatient hospital bill auditing experience preferred.
• Proficient in ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding methodology.
• Strong knowledge of UB-04s, revenue codes, CPT/HCPCS codes, ICD10 diagnosis and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Verify that itemized bill lines reflect services performed, are covered, ordered, documented, and reimbursed per plan terms.
• Evaluate documentation for accurate coding, charging, and reimbursement for inpatient and outpatient facility services.
• Use auditing systems to document findings and rationale with high proficiency.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as set by management.
• Cross-train to review multiple claim types to meet client needs.
• Assist management with training new Coding Auditors.
