Job summary

Sanford Health in Remote SD seeks an experienced health information coder to assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient records. You will apply official guidelines, CMS rules, and coding standards while maintaining quality and productivity.

Work collaboratively across departments in a home-based setting. AHIMA/CCS credentials preferred, with opportunities for growth within our Revenue Cycle team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Bachelor’s in Health Information Management and/or CCS required.
• Hospital coding experience preferred; encoder software experience desirable.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification required; grads must pass exam promptly.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient records.
• Apply Official Coding Guidelines, CMS rules, and coding standards.
• Maintain quality and productivity per organization guidelines.
• Collaborate with providers/departments to standardize coding practices.
