Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Coder Inpatient to assign ICD-10 and PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures. The role is 100% remote with some on-site references and offers a full-time schedule and hourly pay dependent on experience.

You will review accounts, collaborate with physicians and CDI, and pursue continuing education to maintain coding accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding credentials and/or extensive inpatient/outpatient coding experience.
• AHIMA/AAPC certifications strongly preferred; CCS advantageous.
• High attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Reviews accounts day after admission and assigns ICD-10 and PCS codes.
• Collaborates with physicians, CDI, and Quality to ensure accurate coding and capture quality measures.
• Partners with Compliance and department committees to clarify coding issues.
• Continues education to enhance coding knowledge and stay current with coding literature.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and decisive action.
