BJC HealthCare is hiring an Inpatient Coder I, an entry level role focused on assigning accurate inpatient diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with regulatory guidelines. The position supports CDI and HIM Operations and requires attention to detail and willingness to learn coding updates.

Responsibilities include accurately abstracting data from patient encounters, staying current with code updates, and collaborating with care teams to ensure the integrity of the medical record.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience Supervisor Experience
• No Experience Licenses & Certifications
• Cert/Lic in CCS or CCA or RHIA or RHIT preferred

Mansioni

• Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters.
• Abstracts data elements and stays current with coding changes.
• Collaborates with CDI, HIM Operations, and other departments to ensure coding integrity.
