The ideal candidate should hold a CCS/CCA/RHIA/RHIT credential or be in the process of obtaining one, and possess a High School diploma or GED.

• Must have strong understanding of inpatient coding requirements.
• Cares about regulatory guidelines and code updates.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters.
• Accurately abstracts data elements as required.
• Keeps current with coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, and BJC coding guidance.
• Collaborates with leadership, CDI, HIM Operations and other departments to ensure coding accuracy.
