Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare services organization to expand its remote inpatient coding team. You will review inpatient records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and ensure documentation supports accurate reimbursement from a national client base.

The role emphasizes complex trauma/academic center coding, collaboration with CDI and clinical teams, and adherence to evolving coding standards while working remotely with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Active CCS, RHIT or RHIA certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience.
• Experience coding at large academic medical centers or high-acuity trauma hospitals.
• Experience coding at facilities with 500+ beds.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inpatient records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Review documentation for coding completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Abstract and enter required clinical and demographic data into designated systems.
• Assign POA indicators, discharge statuses, and other coding-related elements.
• Communicate with providers regarding documentation clarification when necessary.
• Partner with CDI and Revenue Cycle teams to resolve coding and documentation concerns.
• Maintain established productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Stay current on coding standards, updates, and credentialing requirements.
