Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an inpatient medical coder to review and code hospital records, assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures, and determine MS-DRG/APR-DRG groups. The role requires CCS certification and hospital coding experience.

The coder collaborates with CDI and clinical staff to ensure compliant documentation, timely billing, and quality reporting while maintaining credential upkeep and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CCS certification required.
• Experience with hospital coding and inpatient records preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignment required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes.
• Assign DRGs (MS-DRG/APR-DRG) accurately.
• Ensure MCC/CC, POA indicators, HACs, PSIs, SOI and ROM are properly captured.
• Interact with clinicians and CDI to resolve documentation gaps.
• Support audits and corrective action plans as needed.
• Maintain coding credentials and stay updated on ICD-10 updates.
