Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Acute Care Coder with ICD-10-PCS inpatient experience for a 100% remote position. The role codes inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and ancillary records, supports billing and data reporting, and requires knowledge of CPT guidelines and anatomy/medical terminology. National candidates are encouraged to apply.

We provide equipment, coding books, CE credits, and AHIMA/APC memberships. Hourly pay range listed: $24.33–$36.50, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Inpatient ICD-10-PCS coding experience in acute care.
• CPT Coding Guidelines knowledge required.
• Diploma in Medical Coding or 1 year coding experience in healthcare preferred.
• Associate/Bachelor in Health Information Technology preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes for inpatient, outpatient, and other records.
• Abstract data and support billing, data quality, and statistics.
• Apply diagnostic reports to accurate codes.
• Enter information into the coding system.
• Communicate via coding system and initiate queries as needed.
• Support DNFB and billing efficiency goals.
