Job summary

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Facility Inpatient Coder for a remote, full-time role (part-time considered with a minimum of 20 hours/week). You will code acute care inpatient records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRGs, and POA indicators, while ensuring compliance and quality. 3+ years acute inpatient coding, Epic and 3M Encoder required; RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CIC certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent acute care inpatient facility coding experience.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG assignment, POA indicators, UHDDS reporting requirements, CMS and payer-specific coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code acute care inpatient medical records.
• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes per guidelines and payer requirements.
• Assign MS-DRGs, POA indicators, discharge disposition, and quality data elements.
• Analyze physician documentation to ensure complete and compliant code assignment.
• Identify documentation opportunities and collaborate with CDI teams.
• Maintain productivity and coding quality standards and meet turnaround times.
• Stay current on coding regulations, payer updates, and best practices.
