Job summary

Vibrant Planet seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to design, scale, and maintain the platform powering geospatial and AI/ML workloads. You will own the Atmos-based IaC framework and ensure secure, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure across AWS and managed SaaS platforms.

The role is fully remote, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers and scientists on climate-related challenges. 5+ years in infra engineering with strong Terraform/OpenTofu and AWS skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software or infra engineering with 3+ years on cloud infra.
• Deep proficiency with Terraform and/or OpenTofu.
• Strong AWS experience with core services like EC2, EKS, RDS, S3.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Helm).
• Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling.
• CI/CD pipelines experience with GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infra on AWS using IaC.
• Own and evolve Atmos-based IaC framework, including env lifecycle management.
• Operate managed SaaS platforms (Fly.io, Crunchy Bridge) including deployments.
• Develop Terraform/OpenTofu modules ensuring reuse across environments.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists; mentor teammates on infra code.
