Job summary

Rex.zone seeks a seasoned Industrial Robotics Engineer to design, program, and support robot cells tied to Mexico manufacturing initiatives while working remotely from the US. You will translate production requirements into robotic architectures, integrate PLC/HMI/SCADA, and drive reliability improvements.

Responsibilities include developing robot programs for handling, welding, palletizing, and machine tending, plus integrating with PLCs and industrial networks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in industrial automation or robotics engineering with hands-on robot programming.
• Strong PLC fundamentals (ladder logic/structured text) and robot controller integration.
• Experience with major robot OEMs (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman).
• Working knowledge of industrial safety principles, guarding, lockout/tagout, and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robot programs for handling, welding, palletizing, assembly, and machine tending.
• Integrate robots with PLCs, safety PLCs, sensors, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet).
• Implement and validate safety circuits and compliance practices (risk assessments, interlocks, E‑stops, guarding).
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT test plans, and production ramp with structured troubleshooting and documentation.
• Improve cycle time, path planning, and cell utilization using simulation, offline programming, and motion tuning.
• Build standards for versioning, backup/restore, change control, and maintenance procedures across sites.
• Collaborate with vision teams to deploy inspection and guidance solutions (2D/3D cameras, lighting, calibration).
