Job summary

Rex.zone is hiring a Mid‑Senior Robotics Technician to support Mexico‑based operations in a remote‑first capacity. You will troubleshoot and improve industrial robots, cobots, and automated production systems while coordinating diagnostics, documentation, and on‑site interventions through local teams when required.

This role requires strong electrical/mechanical/controls troubleshooting, the ability to read schematics, and experience with PLCs and safety systems.

Qualifications

• Mid-to-senior experience in robotics/automation maintenance for industrial robots and automated lines.
• Strong electrical/mechanical/controls troubleshooting; able to read electrical schematics and interpret I/O.
• PLC troubleshooting concepts, safety relays, motor drives, and basic industrial networking fundamentals.
• Comfortable documenting work orders, fault trees, and corrective actions in a CMMS or ticketing workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own preventive maintenance (PM) plans for robotic cells, controllers, and automation peripherals.
• Troubleshoot robot faults, servo alarms, I/O issues, and safety circuits.
• Review PLC and HMI status to drive root‑cause analysis and recovery steps.
• Calibrate sensors, vision triggers, EOAT, and torque/position feedback systems.
• Coordinate spares strategy for critical components (drives, encoders, sensors, cables, EOAT parts).
• Support commissioning, line changeovers, run‑off checklists, and validation.
• Create and maintain SOPs, PM checklists, wiring updates, and as‑built documentation.
• Analyze downtime trends (MTBF/MTTR) and OEE/cycle‑time impacts.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices including LOTO, guarding, interlocks, and E‑stops.
• Partner with integrators/vendors on firmware updates, controller backups, and service tickets.
