Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an Associate Attorney to represent the company and its policyholders in moderately complex civil litigation and workers’ compensation matters. Under moderate supervision, you’ll manage cases from inception through resolution, applying your legal knowledge and client relationship skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in Idaho in good standing.
• General knowledge of insurance law, and, as necessary, workers’ compensation and/or No Fault law.
• Proficient in e-discovery, case management systems, and basic legal analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
• Basic knowledge of negotiation techniques including preparation, active listening, and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases from start to finish under supervision.
• Effective communication and persuasion skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Litigation execution across discovery, hearings, trials, mediations, and drafting legal documents.
• Provide clear and reasoned legal opinions and strategic advice to claims representatives and insured clients.
• Utilize e-discovery and case management technologies to streamline legal processes and coordinate with remote team members.
• Identify, evaluate, and collaborate on strategies to mitigate legal risks and facilitate effective resolutions.
• Ensure all pleadings and motions are accurate and compliant with standards and client expectations.
• Provide timely updates and recommendations to insured clients and claims professionals.
• Participate in initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and best practices within Staff Legal and Global Legal & Compliance organizations.
• Uphold the highest standards of legal ethics and compliance.
