Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking an Associate Attorney to represent the company and its policyholders in routine civil litigation and workers’ compensation matters. You will manage cases from inception to resolution under moderate supervision, applying your legal knowledge, research skills, and client relationship capabilities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in the required state in good standing.
• General knowledge of insurance law and, as necessary, workers’ compensation and/or No Fault law.
• Proficient in e-discovery, case management systems, and basic legal analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
• Effective communication and persuasion skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution including discovery, hearings, and trials.
• Provide clear and reasoned legal opinions and strategic advice to claims representatives and insured clients.
• Utilize e-discovery and case management technologies to streamline processes.
• Identify and evaluate risks and collaborate on resolutions with senior counsel.
• Ensure accurate, compliant drafting of pleadings and motions.
