Job summary

LLUMC is seeking a skilled Coder 2-HIM to perform ICD and CPT coding and data abstraction for inpatient and outpatient records. You will ensure compliance with AHIMA guidelines and regulatory requirements, contributing to accurate patient data, coding quality, andPayload for financial and research needs.

The role requires a Coding Certificate or an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, plus a minimum of three years of coding experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of Coding Certificate program or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management is required.
• Minimum three years of coding experience, preferably inpatient/outpatient surgery.
• AHIMA coding standards knowledge is important.

Responsibilities

• Perform ICD and CPT coding for inpatient and/or outpatient records.
• Abstract data from legal medical records for quality and reporting.
• Ensure coding compliance with AHIMA guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Provide accuracy and support for audits and payer submissions.
