Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an HIM Certified Coder to accurately code inpatient, outpatient, and professional encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. The coder will apply CMS and AHIMA guidelines, assist with audits, and act as a resource for coding staff to ensure compliant charge capture.

The role requires CPC/COC/CIC/CCS-P/CCS/RHIT/RHIA certifications and knowledge of coding software or encoders. Prior experience with audits and regulatory guidelines is highly valued, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding rules and guidelines.
• AAPC/AHIMA certifications listed in qualifications.
• Experience with coding software and encoder tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient and professional encounters using ICD10/ICDPCS, CPT or HCPCS.
• Ensure coding accuracy to support compliant billing and revenue optimization.
• Perform provider and peer coding audits as requested.
• Assist with monitoring internal controls for coding and billing.
