Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract patient records for professional billing.
• Review records for diagnoses and procedures to support reimbursement.
• Assist with coding requests from billers.
• Serve as a resource for difficult coding questions and assist with insurance denials for correction and re-filing.
• Suggest process improvements related to registration and charge posting.
• Comply with federal, state, and insurance regulations.
• Stay updated on carrier rules and changes through education opportunities.
• Follow hospital policies concerning corporate compliance.
