Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Ann Arbor, MI, with remote/hybrid options and site visits as needed. You will contribute to HVAC design across multiple projects, collaborating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions.

You will independently perform design tasks under senior oversight, including load calculations, system design, and construction documents, while expanding your expertise in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of post-graduation professional experience in HVAC engineering and design.
• Proficiency in Revit for mechanical system design and construction documentation.
• Experience performing HVAC load and energy calculations using Trane TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC heating and cooling load calculations using Trane TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent software.
• Develop mechanical system designs and construction documents using Revit.
• Design HVAC ductwork and piping systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
• Evaluate existing HVAC systems and select appropriate mechanical equipment and system solutions.
• Perform building energy calculations and analyses using Trane TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent software.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate designs and deliver project requirements.
• Participate in project design meetings and communicate technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to assess, verify, and document existing HVAC and plumbing systems and building conditions.
