Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Ann Arbor, MI, with a remote/hybrid work arrangement and occasional site visits to project locations.

You will independently perform mechanical design tasks for HVAC and plumbing systems under supervision, collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to project delivery while expanding your technical expertise in a growing firm.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduation HVAC design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and energy calculations.
• Proficient in Revit for mechanical design and docs.
• Experience with Trane TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Ability to work remotely with strong coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC load calculations with TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent.
• Develop mechanical system designs and construction documents in Revit.
• Design HVAC ductwork and piping per codes.
• Evaluate existing systems and select equipment.
• Conduct energy calculations and analyses with TRACE 3D Plus.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers.
• Participate in design meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to assess HVAC and plumbing systems.
