Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks an Associate Dean of Students and Director for Student Support and Case Management to lead a broad portfolio protecting and supporting students across campus. You will oversee CARE, BIT, and Aggie Source while coordinating with partners to connect students to community resources and services.

You will collaborate with academics, healthcare providers, and families to sustain safe, inclusive environments and provide direct case management and crisis

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, social work, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership and supervision experience in a post-secondary setting, with at least three years directing a department or function area within student affairs.
• Extensive experience in student conduct, threat assessment, behavioral intervention, and crisis management operations.
• Strong background in technology-based student conduct and case management record system governance (i.e. Maxient).
• Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, political acumen, and discernment during challenging circumstances.
• Strong background in policy development and compliance and knowledge of local, state and federal laws and proceedings related to college students.
• Excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Evidence of strong interpersonal communications skills and ability to cultivate strong partnerships with different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive portfolio of campus and community strategies supporting students facing obstacles.
• Support the Associate Vice Chancellor with a dual reporting line to ensure compliance with behavioral threat assessment and management requirements.
• Oversee CARE, Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), Aggie Source, and other resources for student support.
• Provide direct case management services including interventions, referrals, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with student affairs, faculty, healthcare providers, and families to support students.
