Job summary

Oliver Hotels and Resorts is seeking an HR & Payroll Generalist who will serve as the backup for HR and payroll across our hotel portfolio. You'll be the main contact for benefit questions, provide payroll processing coverage, and stay current on state unemployment rates.

This role requires experience with multi-state HR rules, HRIS/payroll systems, and strong Excel skills. You’ll work remotely with occasional travel to properties and corporate meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR generalist experience with benefits administration.
• Hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ADA, and I-9 rules.
• Experience with an HRIS/payroll platform and strong Excel skills.
• Sound judgment with confidential information.
• Clear, friendly communication with team members at every level.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR and payroll backup for hotel portfolio nationwide.
• Manage benefits enrollments, changes, terminations, and invoicing; reconcile carrier invoices.
• Support COBRA, ACA tracking and state unemployment tasks.
• Coach property GMs and managers on attendance, performance, and handbook policies.
• Assist onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 and E-Verify compliance.
• Keep HRIS and personnel files accurate and audit-ready; generate HR reports.
• Support recruiting at properties including postings, screening and offers.
• Work on HR projects and compliance audits.
