Job summary

CrewAI is hiring its first HR Operations Manager to own the systems, processes and policies behind hiring, paying, supporting and growing its people. The role is fully remote within the United States and collaborates with leadership, finance and legal to build scalable HR infrastructure.

You will manage HRIS like Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR or Workday, coordinate payroll and benefits, and drive onboarding/offboarding, compliance and reporting for a distributed global team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR operations experience, preferably at a fast-growing startup.
• Hands-on ownership of an HRIS (Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR or Workday) including payroll and benefits administration.
• Knowledge of US employment law and multi-state compliance, with vision for when to involve legal counsel.
• Lean toward scalable systems while knowing when a quick manual fix is appropriate.
• Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and communicate clearly in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Own HR operations end to end, including HRIS administration, employee records, payroll coordination and benefits for a distributed team.
• Design and run onboarding and offboarding processes, with a strong 30-day plan and compliant exits.
• Develop, maintain and update HR policies and handbook content; manage leave-of-absence processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as the company grows.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll accuracy and benefits invoicing; partner with hiring managers on the employee journey from offer to exit.
• Create people reporting and metrics on headcount, attrition, onboarding time and benefits usage.
• Identify manual, error-prone HR processes and implement improvements via automation or tooling.
