Job summary

Digital Harbor Foundation seeks an Operations & HR Director to lead organization-wide HR and operations systems, onboarding, performance management, and policy development. You will partner with the COO to design scalable processes and ensure compliance across a mission-driven, equity-focused nonprofit in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in HR, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in HR, operations, or organizational management.
• 3+ years of people management and leadership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, education, or technology environments preferred.
• Demonstrated success building organizational systems, workflows, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve HR and operations systems.
• Lead organizational planning, culture-building, and process improvements.
• Own HR policies, equity, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee recruitment strategy, onboarding, and manager enablement tools.
• Provide executive-level oversight of HRIS and benefits systems; drive data-driven decisions.
• Lead compensation, benefits, and open enrollment strategy.
• Evolve performance management framework and training.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal controls.
• Partner with COO on risk mitigation and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Lead special projects related to systems, compliance, or infrastructure.
