Job summary

YMCA of San Diego seeks a Human Resources Generalist to administer HR activities for a specified branch or region, working with employees, supervisors, and HR leadership to ensure compliance with association policies and employment law. The role supports investigations and promotes equity and positive employee relations.

The position collaborates with operational and HR leadership to apply HR processes, policies, and procedures consistently, and may travel to program sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of HR experience or a certificate in Human Resources.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Understanding of local, state and federal employment law.
• Conflict management skills and data-driven decision making.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operational and HR leadership to execute HR processes.
• Partner within area to ensure HR policies and procedures are administered consistently.
• Collaborate with HR leadership to identify opportunities and initiatives.
• Assist with investigations for employee relations claims and ensure fair treatment.
• Assist in the termination process for employees in the assigned area.
• Serve as the point of contact for HR questions from employees or managers.
