Gaggle is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to oversee benefits administration, payroll accuracy, HR systems, and multi-state compliance for employees and contractors. This role blends day-to-day HR tasks with process improvements to scale operations, while shaping how HR operates at Gaggle and supporting a positive employee experience.

The role emphasizes independence, initiative, and problem-solving in a remote-first environment across 50 US states.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in an HR generalist or HR operations role including benefits administration and payroll data management.
• PHR (HRCI) or SHRM-CP certification.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with a full-service payroll/HRIS platform, and experience with Paychex Flex.
• Working knowledge of multi-state compliance for employee and contractor workforces.
• Comfortable building and pulling custom reports from a complex HRIS platform.

Responsibilities

• Oversee benefits enrollment, COBRA, and benefits inquiries; coordinate with brokers and carriers.
• Maintain audit-ready payroll change logs; verify data with Finance and support payroll runs.
• Maintain employee data across Paychex, Flock, Breezy, and related systems; support HR systems questions.
• Help create and maintain HR playbooks and documentation; support performance reviews and surveys.
• Lead and respond to contractor classification challenges and multi-state compliance issues.
