Job summary

Flex HR in Chicago seeks an experienced HR Manager / Business Development Manager for a 50/50 dual-role. You will serve as the primary HR partner for a portfolio of Flex HR clients, delivering daily HR support, compliance guidance, and white-glove service.

In parallel, you will manage inbound sales, qualify leads, and drive proposals and deals through HubSpot. The role combines client retention and growth with hands-on HR operations, requiring strong communication, multi-state compliance

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of HR management experience, preferably in outsourced/consulting capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in B2B sales or account management.
• Excellent consultative communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and multi-state compliance.
• Ability to manage full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement.
• Experience with CRM platforms, preferably HubSpot, and HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR point of contact for an assigned client portfolio.
• Oversee onboarding, benefits enrollment, and HRIS/payroll onboarding.
• Coach clients on performance improvement plans and employee relations issues.
• Assist clients with terminations and compliance forms.
• Lead quarterly reviews and provide ongoing HR support to client employees.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure multi-state compliance.
• Coordinate payroll/HRS platform usage and client records maintenance.
• Support business development through inbound lead response and discovery calls.
• Build customized proposals and manage the sales pipeline in HubSpot.
