Job summary

Calance is seeking an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to support planning, physical deployment, commissioning, and documentation of infrastructure across HPC and data center environments.

This role requires hands-on rack & stack, structured cabling, and coordination with OEMs, vendors, and facilities, with significant nationwide travel. The position also emphasizes developing deployment diagrams and SOPs while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of data center infrastructure/deployment experience.
• Hands-on rack & stack, structured cabling, and cable management.
• Knowledge of data center power, cooling, rack layouts, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Visio, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of TIA-942/BICSI standards.
• Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• NVIDIA HPC / InfiniBand / Ethernet experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan data center layouts, rack elevations, BOMs, PTP diagrams, and cabling specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and data center readiness assessments.
• Oversee rack & stack, structured cabling, labeling, staging, and equipment installation.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, logistics, Facilities, Network Engineering, and OEMs/NVIDIA.
• Perform commissioning, acceptance testing, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain deployment diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and project documentation.
• Track deployment schedules, milestones, issues, and handoffs.
