Job summary

Calance is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to deploy compute and network infrastructure for HPC environments. You will install Proxmox hypervisors, provision VMs, and assist with BGP router deployments across US data centers.

The role requires travel (25-50%), remote work, and readiness to work onsite at data centers as needed. Strong virtualization, Linux, and scripting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 4-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration.
• Hands-on virtualization experience with Proxmox is a strong plus (KVM/ESXi/Hyper-V also relevant).
• Foundational networking knowledge: IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing fundamentals.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash, or Ansible is preferred.
• Willingness to travel regularly to US data center locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Proxmox hypervisors on bare-metal servers during deployments.
• Provision and manage virtual machines with templates and deployment profiles.
• Perform patching and lifecycle maintenance on hypervisor hosts and guest VMs.
• Assist with server imaging, initial configuration, and validation during site bring-up.
• Assist senior engineers with deployment of BGP routers and OOB management fabrics.
• Develop and maintain automation for provisioning and configuration tasks.
