Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a remote Document Management Specialist to support the 10450 Enterprise Revenue Cycle HIM Ops team. The role focuses on indexing and routing external records into the EHR, ensuring correct patient and encounter linkage, and upholding chart accuracy.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 0–1 year of healthcare experience, and strong computer skills with Epic/OnBase. Work hours are 2pm to 10:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using standard office software and EHR systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and document management.
• Ability to learn new software quickly and adapt to changing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Accurately upload/index outside records using appropriate software and route to clinicians.
• Create or select the correct patient, encounter, or order while indexing in the EHR.
• Review incoming documentation from various sources to meet quality, accuracy, and productivity benchmarks.
• Identify missing documentation and deficiencies in the medical record and coordinate with providers.
