Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a High Voltage Transmission Line Inspector for our Seattle, WA location. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location and may involve up to 100% travel to project sites nationwide.

You will support engineers and project managers by performing field inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and safety standards. A strong background in construction inspection and excellent written communication are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, equivalent or proven equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of relevant post-education construction inspection experience.
• Computer skills to fill out daily and weekly reports and photo documentation with Word and Excel.
• Essential professional licensure/certifications.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) background check.
• Knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement in evaluating situations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead others in the field to complete tasks safely and accurately.
• Willingness to travel as required by project scope.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on projects of moderate scope and complexity.
• Generate accurate and concise documentation of inspection findings.
• Verify load calculations and change orders; interpret contract plans.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate with contractors.
• Write technical reports with photos, sketches and calculations.
• Provide guidance to entry-level inspection staff.
• Coordinate with client and contractor personnel to schedule inspections.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specs, codes and permits.
• Support cross-functional project teams and risk assessment.
