Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks a High Voltage Transmission Line Inspector to join the Portland-area PCI team. The role may operate remotely from mutually acceptable locations and can involve up to 100% travel to project sites. You will inspect construction, document findings, and ensure adherence to plans, specs, and codes.

The position emphasizes field inspection, data collection, and reporting, with strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and collaboration with engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, equivalent diploma, or demonstrated proven equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
• Have computer skills and photo documentation with Word and Excel.
• Essential professional licensure/certification(s).
• Valid state driver’s license; pass MVR background check.
• Knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, and codes.
• Analytical mindset and ability to exercise sound judgement.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from field inspections and plans.
• Use survey instruments and test equipment to assess site conditions and conformance with codes.
• Provide technical guidance on inspection, construction, and safety.
• Act as consultant on project progress; may lead inspections on smaller projects.
• Verify load calculations and resolve interpretation differences in plans.
