Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Transmission Line Inspector for our Baton Rouge, LA area. The role offers remote work from a mutually agreeable location and may involve up to 100% travel to support PCI projects.

You will inspect projects for compliance with plans, specs, and codes, generating precise reports and documentation on site. Ideal candidates bring 9+ years of inspection experience, essential licensure, a valid driver’s license, and strong writing skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant post-education experience in construction inspection.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; capable of photo documentation.
• Essential licensure/certification(s) and a valid state driver’s license.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) background check.
• Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles and codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect field work to ensure conformance with plans, specs, and permits.
• Generate accurate documentation including photographs, drawings, and reports.
• Provide technical guidance on inspection, safety, and compliance.
• Act as consultant on project progress and oversee inspection activities.
• Verify load calculations, change orders, and interpretation of plans.
• Monitor phasing and contractor work to ensure quality control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend pre-construction meetings.
• Assist with payments verification and risk identification.
• Train entry-level inspection staff and coordinate field work.
