Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Substation Physical Engineer to join our team. You will design high voltage substations (4kV–230kV) and EHV systems, develop layouts, grounding, and cable plans, and prepare equipment specifications and construction documents.

You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet milestones, apply NEC/NESC standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables for utility and renewable interconnection projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in high voltage substation design.
• Proficient with CDEGS or WinIGS for grounding/lighting studies.
• Knowledge of NEC and National Electrical Safety Code.
• Experience with mechanical and thermal effects on conductors and bus.

Responsibilities

• Design high voltage (4kV–230kV) and EHV substations and prepare plans.
• Develop general arrangements, plan/elevation views, grounding, and cable layouts.
• Produce equipment specs, BOMs, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with project teams and manage client milestones.
