Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. seeks a High Voltage Field Service Engineer to perform field assignments from installation to troubleshooting on HV equipment up to 800kV.

The role requires leadership of crews, extensive travel, and a strong technical background in electrical/mechanical engineering. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in technical field service, trade education in industrial mechanics or electrical trades, and proficiency with test equipment software.

Qualifications

• Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic or Electrical trades.
• Over 5 years of experience in technical field service work.
• Hands-on experience with high voltage equipment up to 800kV.
• Knowledge of electrical testing and substation construction.
• Leadership experience coordinating and leading crews.
• Proficiency in MS Office and test equipment software.
• Valid US driver's license and ability to travel extensively (80%).

Responsibilities

• Perform complex field service operations with minimal guidance.
• Deliver installation, maintenance, and repairs on HV equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and proactively prevent issues.
• Identify and resolve electrical or mechanical problems independently.
• Develop potential sales and business opportunities.
• Lead field service projects and provide direction and analysis.
