Job summary

Berkley One (a Berkley Company) is seeking a High Value Home Risk Consultant to serve affluent homeowners, conducting on-site and virtual risk assessments, educating clients on risks, and developing tailored loss-prevention strategies.

The role collaborates with Underwriting to validate property characteristics and establish replacement cost estimates, supporting coverage decisions. Fully remote with activities across Brooklyn/Kings County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Experience identifying property loss exposures and providing risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of residential construction, building systems, and replacement cost methods.
• Experience with affluent clients and personal insurance products.
• Proficiency with valuation platforms (e.g., e2Value).
• Strong communication, consulting, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for high-value homes to identify exposures.
• Evaluate risks such as water damage, fire, severe weather, and other exposures common to affluent homeowners.
• Deliver tailored loss prevention recommendations to reduce loss likelihood and improve resilience.
• Educate clients on risks, mitigation options, and informed decision-making.
• Encourage adoption of loss prevention measures through clear consultation and ongoing engagement with clients and brokers.
• Prepare clear risk assessment reports communicating exposures and underwriting considerations.
