Job summary

Indiana Connections Academy is seeking a certified High School English Teacher to work from a home office in Indiana. You will manage instructional programs, consult with learning coaches and students, and ensure successful completion of the program using phone, internet, and curriculum tools.

You will complete grading, create progress reports, conduct conferences, and support both asynchronous and synchronous instruction.

Qualifications

• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach High School English in Indiana.
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft OS, MS Office and Google Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach with a high degree of flexibility.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
• Willing to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events.
• May require occasional evening hours to support families.
• Must use a personal device and email for 2-step authentication.

Responsibilities

• Grade coursework, generate progress reports and conduct parent conferences timely.
• Provide asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous instruction for students.
• Review curriculum and adapt lessons to improve understanding with families.
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and teachers to update learning plans.
• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure student progress and consistent contact.
• Gain broad knowledge of K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses.
• Support students and parents with alternative strategies and extra help daily.
• Maintain up-to-date student records and attendance data; log contacts.
• Develop enrichment activities and modifications with staff specialists.
• Help create and maintain a virtual school community; participate in state testing.
• Coordinate with advisors to ensure progress and goal attainment; participate in field trips and activities.
