Job summary

Georgia Connections Academy in Georgia seeks a High School Counselor to assist students and families with course selection, scheduling, and to be the initial contact for multi-subject and non-academic concerns.

Based in Duluth, GA or remote within Georgia, the counselor will participate in monthly in-person activities and collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and families to support transitions, MTSS/RTI, assessments, and college/career planning.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree or higher in Counselor Education/School Counseling (accredited).
• Georgia Clearance Certificate required.
• Georgia Service Certificate in School Counseling required.
• Georgia School Counseling certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and families with successful transition into the program.
• Work with students with special needs including 504 plans.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate regularly with students and families by email/phone/in person.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations are implemented.
