Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our client near Welkom, Free State. You will maintain, repair and overhaul a diverse fleet of mining and earthmoving equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers and haul trucks, with emphasis on diesel engines, hydraulics and powertrain systems.

You will diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure safety protocols, while mentoring junior staff and keeping

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• 5+ years working with heavy duty diesel equipment, mining or construction preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for heavy machinery.
• Able to read manuals and schematics and work safely in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on heavy duty diesel equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
