Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking an Underpayment Analyst based in the United States. Join a healthcare revenue integrity team to analyze hospital claims, identify underpayments, and work with insurance carriers to recover appropriate reimbursements in a remote role.

You will complete a comprehensive 90-business-day training, document findings, and collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and CMS regulations.
• Experience with healthcare billing systems (Epic/Cerner/Meditech) desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments and variances due to coding or policy issues.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain missing information and resolve underpayments.
• Prepare documentation to support reimbursement recovery and appeals.
• Maintain records of investigations, trends, and outcomes for audits.
• Interpret payer guidelines to support accurate claim assessments and recovery actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and insurers to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in meetings and process-improvement initiatives.
• Uphold confidentiality and healthcare regulations in all activities.
