Qualifications

• Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial policies is preferred.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, or Meditech is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely and manage tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments and variances due to coding or payer policy errors.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain missing information and resolve underpayments.
• Prepare documentation to support recovery efforts (letters, emails, appeals, reports).
• Maintain records of investigations and outcomes for audits and knowledge sharing.
• Interpret payer guidelines to support accurate claim assessments.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in meetings to improve workflows and recovery strategies.
• Uphold HIPAA and regulatory standards in all activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
