Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a Remote Sustainability Manager to lead operational environmental improvements within the Care Delivery organization in the United States. You will develop and promote environmental strategies, monitor KPIs, and coordinate cross-functional teams to advance conservation and recycling efforts.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in sustainability or related field and at least three years of healthcare sustainability experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least three years of healthcare sustainability experience is preferred.
• Experience applying sustainability standards and reporting (e.g., UN SDGs, CSRD).

Responsibilities

• Perform a baseline assessment to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop an environmental sustainability strategic plan for Care Delivery operations.
• Collaborate with departments to implement the approved strategy and workstreams.
• Maintain relationships with external organizations to stay current with industry norms.
• Establish baselines and collect data to track conservation and recycling progress.
• Set and monitor KPIs to measure sustainability metrics.
• Prepare updates and briefings on strategy, initiatives, and progress.
• Develop procedures for materials & waste, safer chemicals, and sustainable purchasing.
• Create project structures to support continuous environmental quality improvement.
