Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support providers and members from a remote location across the United States. This full-time role requires strong communication skills, experience in handling calls, and the ability to navigate health care systems to resolve issues efficiently.

Training is 3 weeks virtually from home, with hours 9:00 am–5:30 pm ET during training, and regular shifts 7:00 am–7:00 pm local time, with occasional overtime on weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to complete Customer Service training classes with a passing score.
• Ability to make outbound calls as needed.
• Ability to work full-time Monday–Friday with 8-hour shifts during 7:00 am–7:00 pm and Saturdays on rotation.
• Strong computer and Windows PC navigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle outbound calls to health care providers and insurers to identify the type of assistance the provider needs (e.g. benefit and eligibility, billing and payments, authorizations for treatment, explanation of benefits).
• Focus on resolving issues on the first call and navigate through complex computer systems to identify the status of the issue and provide appropriate response to caller.
• Deliver information and answer questions in a positive manner to facilitate strong relationships with providers and their staff.
• Complete the documentation necessary to track provider issues and facilitate the reporting of overall trends.
