Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a call center associate for a full-time remote role based in California. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during PST hours. Training is 3–4 weeks and conducted virtually from your home.

Responsibilities include handling caller questions, coordinating across departments, and documenting outcomes. Compliance, bilingual capability, and remote-work readiness are preferred, with a focus on first-call resolution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.
• 1+ years of experience in a related environment using phones and computers as the primary job tools.
• Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of factors driving caller questions/issues (e.g., plan changes, mass mailings).
• Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify root cause.
• Gather data and perform initial investigation to determine scope and depth of question/issue.
• Coordinate internal resources across departments to address client situations.
• Proactively contact external resources as needed to address caller questions/issues.
• Utilize knowledge resources to drive resolution (CRM, knowledge bases, product manuals).
• Identify and communicate steps/solutions to caller questions/issues, with guidelines.
• Offer additional options to provide solutions/outcomes for callers.
• Make outbound calls to resolve caller questions/issues.
• Drive first-call resolution whenever possible.
• Ensure proper documentation of caller questions/issues.
