Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking an experienced Interoperability Engineer to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain interfaces connecting radiology and revenue-cycle systems across RIS, PACS/VNA, dictation, and billing workflows.

You will work with HL7 v2.x, REST APIs, web services, and SQL, using Mirth Connect or alternatives, and apply CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• 7+ years in healthcare integration, interoperability, or interface development.
• Hands-on HL7 v2.x interface engineering (ADT/ORM/ORU/SIU/DFT workflows).
• Interface engine experience (Mirth Connect preferred; Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Iguana, or InterSystems also acceptable).
• Experience integrating healthcare applications across RIS, PACS/VNA, dictation/reporting, and revenue cycle systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
• Development experience with JavaScript, Python, Java, and SQL.
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
• Ability to work in fast-paced implementation environments with evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build and support HL7 v2.x interfaces and integrations like REST APIs, web services, and SQL exchanges across RIS, PACS/VNA, dictation, and billing.
• Configure message transformations, routing logic, and workflow orchestration in an interface engine environment (Mirth Connect preferred).
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Monitor, alert, and recover from system issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and support materials.
• Partner with clinical, operational, vendor, and technical teams during implementations, conversions, go-lives.
• Contribute to automation by building integration components and tools using JavaScript, Python, Java, SQL, and RESTful APIs.
• Follow Git-based workflows, perform code reviews, and practice CI/CD.
• Maintain code-driven configurations including infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) where applicable.
• Work with cloud platforms, with strong preference for AWS, Azure, or GCP.
