Job summary

Porter is seeking a Check-in Specialist to manage day-of appointment check-ins, coordinate with providers and practice coordinators, and handle insurance verifications. The role emphasizes detail orientation and strong communication in a healthcare IT setting.

You will work remotely in a fast-paced environment, using Athena and Salesforce as needed to ensure accurate, timely updates for members and care teams.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in healthcare
• Comfortable using chat-based tools for internal communication
• High attention to detail in a dynamic workflow
• Experience with Athena or Salesforce is a plus but not required
• Ability to work in a remote, fast-paced environment with clear communication

Responsibilities

• Make approximately 20-40 check-in calls daily to confirm readiness and availability for scheduled appointments
• Directly communicate with providers using Athena chat during day-of workflow
• Coordinate with Practice Coordinators to ensure visibility of appointment status
• Monitor and respond to day-of appointment issues such as no-shows or cancellations
• Update insurance verification or add-on member appointments as needed
• Collaborate across tools like Athena and Salesforce
